I picked up the supplies from Bunnnigs a few days before i started drawing the mural. I don’t drive (however after this incident times may be a changin’) so i wandered 2 k down to Bunnings from my station and bought up big on board and wood. Home delivery was a ridiculous price in comparison to how much the stuff cost me, so instead…..i started to wander back to the station towards salvation…..the bus. Little did i know this would be my ultimate demise….they didn’t let me on, apparently my boards were too big! Ha! Outrage!
I’ll set the scene….its a windy over cast day, dark clouds are rolling in, the moisture in the air is making my curls bounce into my face a sure indicator rain is on its way.
Its about a 9k walk to my house but eh, i start to walk. To cut a long story short, i got alot of confused glances from onlookers, walked about 6 or 7k and then hitchhiked the rest of the way. I don’t condone hitchhiking for young girls but large boards walking against a head wind is not very aerodynamic, and desperate times call for desperate measures.
For a fleeting moment, upon getting in a strangers ute i did think he might kill me as i glanced down to make sure his car had its locks and door openers (what are they actually called?) still attached. Turns out he did, and was playing zepplin in his car. So i got home safe. However if i hadn’t, i would like someone to go and avenge my death, via the bus companies. As it would have been ultimately their fault for my untimely demise.
So back on track, this is a mural i have done for school. Thanks to Jayham who helped out bucket loads ie- Photographing my crafty work/general banter/manual car driver/torch operator.
